MU Health Care’s Integrated Medicine Unit Delivers Safety and Aesthetics

Located on the top floor of MU Health Care’s three-story addition to the university hospital is a new, Integrated Medicine Unit. When designing the space, the hospital asked us to balance their functional and aesthetic goals. They needed an environment that would function for a blended patient population with medical and psychiatric needs. However, they didn’t want it to feel like a traditional psychiatric unit. Our first priority was creating a high level of safety for staff and patients. Elizabeth, or ET as she is known around the office, is BCDG's longest tenured employee. She is our resident plant lady and chocolate chip cookie expert. She loves shoes and has a pair in ever color, including her infamous pineapple shoes. What’s your favorite meal to cook for your family? I love to cook my mom's homemade spaghetti sauce. It's moving day! (er, really moving month...) We are officially starting the moving process from our office in Olathe to our new digs in Overland Park tomorrow. What does that mean for you? Hopefully nothing! Due to COVID-19, we have been working remote since March and will continue to do so until we are settled in our new office. 6 Small Updates Libraries Can Make During a Phased Reopening

As many libraries begin a phased reopening, they are presented with a unique opportunity. With fewer people in the building, they can potentially tackle some of the smaller projects on their to do lists. These kinds of improvements can be done after hours, if needed and often come with a small price tag. However, they can make a large impact on how a space performs and functions.
